A single image to identify and represent a company is a difficult and delicate matter. I have worked with a variety of company in many different fields to find what works best for them. The following are a small selection of the beginning of these identities ... the logo.
It is difficult to get employees to stand up and take notice in a work environment they are surrounded by 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. I worked with the Brand Manager at Domestic & General to find a way get employees to do just that. We developed a series of 1000mm X 1200mm notice boards strategically placed on every floor in every company location to make employees stop and learn. The results were overwhelmingly positive. Suddenly, employees were taking interest and understanding statistics and facts that affected their jobs and performance.
In all my past roles, I have been involved in creating direct marketing for a variety of clients... everything from print campaigns, to online seasonal promotional materials, and in-store point of purchase materials.
Domestic & General's brand and their values were conveyed through a variety of corporate communications. The examples below show two projects which were distributed to investors, board members and also employees to communicate this vital information.
My role at St. Joseph Content centres around many major brands in the fashion and service industries such as Sears Canada, Adidas, Ashworth, Cintas and Alpha Broder. All of which continue to sell merchandise through the printed page. My role for each project varies from high-level creative development, art direction, graphic design, through to production and in many cases, all of the above.
Photo Art Direction
One thing that digital photography can never replicate: ripping open your package of newly developed photos and revealing what you've captured, both good and bad. All the photographs below were taken with my broken-down and taped-up plastic toy camera ... Far more fun than Instagram.
I have been fortunate to see and do many amazing things. Taking photos of it all has been a hobby of mine for many years. Armed with my trusted Nikon, I have tried to capture as many moments as possible over the years and continue to try to learn and improve each time.
Graphic Design has given me the ability to combine many of my hobbies. Last year I created, as a Christmas present for my family, a cookbook in which I baked, tested, painted and designed a 12 recipe cookbook. I was also able to design a wedding invitation for my sister's wedding this year. I designed and handcrafted every element of 70 invitations.
